             About the Plants

The Berry Patch was begun in the spring of 2014.   The field is planted with the Chandler variety of blueberry bushes.  The berries are a late mid-season plant.   This means that our berries are ripe enough to pick  during the first week of August. These berries are the largest berry of any kind on the market today.  The fruit will last over a period of  of 3-4 weeks depending on weather conditions.  They have a very nice, robust flavor in addition to having anti-oxident health benefits.

This is the third year that The Berry Patch is open to the public.  The price remains at:

                   U-Pick                $2.50 per pound

If you prefer that we pick the berries for you, the price is $3.50 per pound.
